博物館工作月報 2020.11:長平出任總策展人


各位支持網絡博物館的朋友,大家好。進入11月,首先想跟大家報告的消息是,我們確認邀請現居住德國的媒體人、作家長平先生,擔任「六四記憶.人權博物館」的總策展人。

長平先生出生於1968年,是親歷八九一代的中國記者、作家,曾在中國大陸及香港參與創辦及主編多家媒體。他曾獲「南方周末年度致敬專欄作家」、「香港人權新聞獎」、「華人百大公共知識分子」、「加拿大國際新聞自由獎」等多項榮譽。2010年底,他被禁止在中國大陸媒體發表任何文章。2011年,長平在香港創辦時事雜誌《陽光時務》,但香港政府拒絕為他簽發工作簽證。隨後,他以訪問作家身份客居德國至今,擔任香港、台灣、馬來西亞、德國等地多家媒體的專欄作者,也發表小說、詩歌等文學作品,出版音樂專輯《自由牢籠》。

策展團隊在長平先生的帶領下,確認博物館的三個重點:

1. 完整性:博物館正在收集包括香港在內的各地、各機構、各親歷者及各收藏者手中保存的「六四」資料,並進行數位化工作,實現收藏的完整性。這一項工作耗時久、範圍廣,我們在此繼續呼籲:如果你有個人收藏、參與研究過與1989中國學潮、民運相關的資料,或是保存過上述資料的機構代表,如果你願意將自己親歷或經手過的歷史資料,在網絡博物館完成一份存檔,以資永久保存,並作為連續脈絡的一部分開放給公眾閱覽,我們非常希望能夠與你合作收藏。請一定與我們聯絡:64.museum.online@protonmail.com

2. 真實感:博物館將以實體建築為目標進行視覺設計。在利用互聯網充分建立它的流動性的同時,我們對它的實體性也滿懷期待。我們希望,總有一天,它不只是在世界各地的書店、場館流動的展覽,不只是客居商業大廈的紀念館,而是同時也位於它最應該位於的地點,有它最應該有的樣子,就像柏林的猶太人博物館,就像美國的911紀念館。這也是我們並行的目標,並會當作它已經存在那樣,來設計這樣一座已經存在的實體博物館的網絡版。博物館會以「館-展-廳」三層基本架構展開。我們正在接洽、挑選設計師及設計方案,如果您有好的提案、想法,或是推薦人選,也歡迎與我們聯絡:64.museum.online@protonmail.com

3. 活歷史:每個人都是歷史記憶的一部分,也是本博物館的一部分。每一個參與、每一次討論都在建構記憶,都是與遺忘的鬥爭。博物館收錄的每一件藏品、每一個詞條、每一組檔案,都會體現出它在當下現實中的「記憶度」——被訪問、討論和引用的程度。參與和討論決定本博物館的規模和呈現方式。1989是一段活在當下的歷史,我們將充分利用網絡特性,呈現這一點。

我們深信,今天是連結過去與未來的唯一通道。今天鋪砌的一磚一瓦,都是歷史經由我們,走進未來的起點。謝謝大家,和我們一起努力。

Monthly Bulletin, Nov 2020: Chang Ping Appointed as Chief Curator


Dear all supporters of the 'June 4th Memory & Human Rights Museum',

For the month of November, we would like to first announce that Chang Ping, a senior journalist who now lives in Germany, will take up the position of chief curator for the museum.

Born in 1968, Chang Ping is a Chinese journalist and writer who witnessed the era of the 1989 student demonstration, and has founded or participated in several media outlets as chief editor. He won numerous awards including the Human Rights Press Awards in Hong Kong and the International Press Freedom Award in Canada, and was nominated as ‘the annual columnist of Southern Weekly’ and ‘the 100 Chinese public intellectuals’. In 2011, Chang Ping founded the magazine Isun Affairs in Hong Kong, but his working visa was denied by the HKSAR government. He has been living in Germany from then on as a visiting writer, working on several columns in collaboration with media from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Germany, while remaining active in publications, writing novels and poems. He was also the producer of the music album Freedom Cage.

Under the leadership of Chang Ping, the curation team has confirmed the following three core considerations:

1.     Comprehensiveness: the museum is currently working with institutions, witnesses, and collectors to gather the relics and documents from the June Fourth Incident for digitisation process. This is a time-consuming and wide-ranging task, and we would like to once again call for your help: if you possess any collections, or have participated in any researches related to the 1989 student demonstration and the democracy movement, please contact us at 64.museum.online@protonmail.com to have your contributions permanently archived in the online 'June 4th Memory & Human Rights Museum' as part of the historical context for public access. Representatives from institutions preserving any aforementioned materials are welcome as well.

2.     Corporeality: the visual design of the museum will be implemented with the target of making it a physical establishment in the future. In addition to the fluidity with the help of internet, we are also looking forward to the museum’s materialisation. We hope that it will not be just a touring exhibition, nor merely a memorial place temporarily situated in a random commercial building, but also legitimately locate at where it should be, with the appearance it should have, just like the Jewish Museum in Berlin, or the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in the US. This is the target that we are also working on, and we will design the online museum as if it is already there, and as if we are making an online version of an existing museum, which will be arranged according to the 3-tier ‘museum-exhibition-hall’ framework. 3.     Living history: everyone is part of the historical memory, and thus part of this museum. Each time you participate or take part in the discussion, you construct the memory, and you combat forgetting. Each piece of collection, entry, and file will reveal its ‘degree of remembrance’, that is, the extent of it being visited, discussed and quoted. Participation and discussion will determine the scale of the museum and the way it present the memory. The history of 1989 is a history that we live in every minute, and we will show this through the characteristics of internet.

We firmly believe that the present is the only passage from the past to the future. Every brick we lay today forms the gateway for the history to lead to the future. Thank you all for carrying on the task with us.
